The main staff, a new key visual, a new teaser trailer, and more story information have all been released for Liz and the Blue Bird (Liz to Aoi Tori in Japanese, alternatively Liz und ein BlauerVogel in German), the newest theatrical film that combines the talents of Naoko Yamada and Kyoto Animation and that will once again explore the turbulent teen years of two members of the Kitauji High School Concert Band Club from Sound! Euphonium.

The story of Liz and the Blue Bird follows Mizore Yoroizuka, a high school student who plays the oboe, and Nozomi Kasaki, a high school student who plays the flute. In the final musical competition of their 3rd high school year, both girls decide to play "Liz and the Blue Bird" for their freeform solo performances, and an argument over the song drives a wedge into their friendship.
Liz and the Blue Bird hits theaters in Japan on April 21, 2018.
